Prenatal Yoga – Offered: Lowell ONLY
Prenatal Yoga provides a nurturing and relaxing atmosphere where you can enhance the bonding process with your baby while supporting the development and strengthening of your body, mind, and spirit during pregnancy. These yoga exercises greatly impact the quality of your pregnancy and birth experience as well as address the many changes, emotionally and physically you will go through after the baby arrives.
The breathing techniques, mantras, and postures address aches and pains associated with pregnancy, including joint stiffness, morning sickness, heartburn, swelling, and general positional discomfort. We will focus on gentle muscle work to strengthen your whole body including the uterus to increase potential for a normal delivery. Additional spinal stretches to help manage the stress on your back from your growing baby and a long relaxation period with guided meditation will help ease anxiety about your body, baby, and birth.
This class is also a wonderful opportunity to meet other pregnant women and be part of a supportive community of women that are also transitioning to motherhood as well as learn from “veteran” mothers. No prior yoga is necessary, many women start their yoga practice when they are pregnant!
Pre/Postnatal Strength – Offered: Lowell ONLY
This class is great for pre and postnatal!
Pre/Postnatal strength training classes help your body manage pregnancy, labor and birth. At SLS Fitness, we tailor each workout to your specific needs with appropriate exercises for your stage of pregnancy, as set forth by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. We focus on strength training and flexibility to strengthen joints and help reduce any muscle imbalances that can arise during pregnancy.
