Laurie Thompson

Coach, Yoga Instructor

Laurie started practicing yoga regularly about four years ago, and was inspired to teach after taking a few power yoga classes. She enjoyed the way she felt during class — strong and fearless.

The more she practiced, the more she learned about herself. She decided she wanted to deepen her  practice, and decided to enroll in a 200 RYT class. She completed 100 hours, in Costa Rica
(April 2016) and finished up her last 100 hours this winter (February 2017) in Mexico.

She has been an avid member at SLS since October 2013, and the transition to teaching was easy. She has been teaching at SLS since September – she started subbing, and now teaches multiple classes per week.
She specializes in and teaches a combination of power, vinyasa and restorative. Her classes are for yogis at all levels — She, like all SLS Coaches, offers modification for poses, and hands on assistance. The only requirement for our yoga classes, is to breathe.
“My gift to students is to unite them throughout the class and offer a relaxing savasana. I want
members to leave my class with a smile and a full heart.”

Laurie has a Bachelors degree in Communications from Emerson College, Boston MA.
She also work part time at the Asperger’s Autism Network, in Watertown, as a life management coach.
