Youth Fitness in Lowell

Youth Boxing. Youth Strength Training & more!

SLS is thrilled to offer fitness programming for kids. We believe in having a positive impact on the way you move, and that includes teaching kids the importance of functional movement!

Whether they’re interested in learning how to strength train, or they’re passionate about boxing, there’s truly something for everyone. In every SLS kids program, we foster positive relationships, strong communication skills, and a sense of camaraderie with the kids who participate.

Kids Boxing

The SLS Kids Boxing Program is always growing! This program is designed to excite and inspire kids to be active, and with plenty of guidance and supervision from our SLS coaches, we offer them a safe place to learn, move, play, and have fun! Our boxing coaches will teach kids about proper hand placement and technique, how to hit the bag, and how to move strategically! Kids will also learn about proper footwork, speed, and agility. A typical class involves a warm up, a review of the fundamental movements, bagwork, partnerwork, and fun drills that keep kids engaged the entire time. Parents are encouraged to sit in our boxing area and watch the workouts!

We truly believe that the sport of boxing helps children excel both physically and mentally. The Kids Boxing Program at SLS boosts confidence, encourages teamwork and positive communication skills, and helps kids to develop a passion for fitness and movement early on. If you’re interested in getting your children involved in our Kids Boxing Program at SLS, ask if they can observe a class, or have them try a Beginner Kids Boxing class to get their feet wet!

Middle School & High School Strength & Conditioning Camps

The Middle School Strength and Conditioning Program at SLS was carefully designed by our SLS Coaches to teach kids ages 11-14 about the fundamentals of stretching, conditioning, and strength training.

Our goal is to educate kids on proper form, and coach them to understand specific cues while they’re performing functional movements.

This hour-long after school program consists of a 10-minute stretching and foam rolling session, followed by a dynamic warm-up, agility and plyometric drills, a full weight room circuit, and a conditioning finisher that involves sprints on the turf, the bike, or the rower.

Each kid is assigned a weight room sheet, and are coached on how to keep track of their weights and reps for each exercise.

We encourage accountability and responsibility by having our middle school participants learn to track their own progress.

This program is open to all abilities!

Whether your child is training for a sport, or simply looking for a structured way to stay active, this program is a great option!
