TRX Training

SLS offers a variety of TRX classes! TRX training is a revolutionary method of leveraged body weight exercise.

In these classes, you’ll safely perform a variety of exercises that build power, total body strength, endurance, flexibility, balance, mobility, and core stability, all at the intensity you choose and with the convenience of just your body weight and the straps.

TRX exercises allow for the use of multiple planes of motion and work multiple muscles and joints simultaneously. While traditional weight training often only works one muscle at a time, TRX training forces you to employ normal, coordinated muscle effort that’s used to complete most daily activities.

There are over 300 different exercises that can be performed using TRX straps, so you’re guaranteed variety every time. Plus, it’s simple to make modifications that either progress or regress each movement, making TRX classes a welcome environment for every age and ability! SLS has many classes that offer TRX training coupled with other training methods, and offers beginner and advanced levels that tailor to all abilities. See below to read more about the combination classes we offer:

TRX/Kettlebell:

TRX/Kettlebell classes use a combination of TRX straps for suspension training and kettlebells for weighted strength training. This class will help improve strength, coordination, and power in the upper body, core, and lower body. Both kettlebell training and TRX training create an unstable environment in which we must use total body strength and core stabilization to navigate.

In this class, members move through a training circuit, alternating exercises on the TRX and with the kettlebell. The kettlebell movements used in this class are meant to mimic power and explosive movements in our daily activities, which means we perform explosive swinging, functional squats and presses, cleans, snatches, get-ups and more. This class is idea for intermediate to advanced levels.

TRX/Core:

We know that TRX training requires core stability and strength, which is why we love pairing TRX exercises with traditional core exercises in our TRX/Core class. This class format allows members to move between various TRX exercises that require multi-joint movements and total body strength, with additional core training exercises outside of the TRX straps. Our SLS coaches will explain how the core is functioning to stabilize in each exercises, which helps members understand the importance of core strength in their daily movements and activities. This is a great class to try if you’re looking for some variety in your exercise routine, and is open to all levels!

TRX/Interval Training:

This TRX class is structured very similarly to a TRX/Core, but with an added twist! The TRX portion will focus on full-body strength and core stabilization, and the interval portion of the class is meant to get your heart rate up with various sprints, such as squat thrusts, medicine ball slams, or jumping on the assault bike or rower. The class is evenly split between TRX work and interval training, so you’ll leave feeling like you got a well-balanced workout.
