Valerie Bedrock, Coach
Strength & Conditioning Coach | @valerie_bedrock
Valerie comes to the SLS team as a New Jersey native spending her whole life as an athlete.
You can find her teaching in the mornings before going back to her full time remote position as an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist. And if she's not home or at SLS, she's probably playing pickleball or getting her nails done.
Before moving to Lowell, she and her fiance, who is currently an assistant coach for the UMass Lowell Men's Lacrosse team, have lived together in PA, OH and NH. Moving around a bunch has given her the opportunity to meet new people, make new relationships and learn something new everywhere they land. You've probably seen her walking around downtown with her sweet angel baby Tobin, a Jindo dog mix, named after her favorite USWNT star, Tobin Heath. She is also a step-mom to a crazy cat named Landis.
After competing as a four year starter for the Women's Soccer Team at Ursinus College, Valerie didn't want her fitness journey to end after graduation. From time to time, she'll even lace up her cleats and attempt her college fitness test to remind herself that "she's still got it".
For years, she has participated in and taught several different fitness disciplines including bootcamp style workouts, indoor rowing, spin and barre. Her favorite classes to teach are rowing and spin because she loves to put on the Britney mic and hide the tough roadmaps behind a smile, a sing-a-long and a dance. But what she truly loves about teaching fitness classes are all the high fives you give each other in class; the "one more rep" mentality you all have; and at the very end, the smiles and sighs of relief knowing you can't wait to do it all again next time.
